ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will present the Forrestal Lecture to the Brigade of Midshipmen Tuesday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the 2012 Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference.
Secretary Clinton is a Chicago native and was appointed Secretary of State after nearly four decades in public service as an advocate, attorney, First Lady, and senator. Since her appointment, Clinton has traveled to more than 80 countries representing the United States, advocating for human rights, democracy and civil society.
The Forrestal Lecture Series at the academy was established in 1970 in honor of James V. Forrestal (the first Secretary of Defense) in order to enhance the education, awareness and appreciation of the members of the Brigade of Midshipmen in the social, political and cultural dimensions of the nation and the world.
