NAVAL ACADEMY ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY GATE HOURS

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - U.S. Naval Academy Gates 1 and 3 will have modified hours during the holidays. The following gate hours will be in place during the holiday period of Dec. 19th - Jan. 6th.

All USNA gates will resume their normal hours Saturday, Jan. 7.

Gate 1 (at the foot of King George St.):

Vehicular Access:

Dec. 19th - Jan. 6th: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pedestrians:
The Visitor's Access Center will be open to pedestrians as follows:

Sundays - Thursdays: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Fridays and Saturdays: 6 a.m. to 12 a.m.
New Year's Eve: The Visitor Access Center will open at 6 a.m. and will remain open until 1 a.m., Jan. 1, 2012

Gate 3 (Maryland Ave.):

Vehicular Access:

Closed throughout the holiday.

Pedestrian Access:
8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday - Friday only with the following exceptions:

Dec. 20: The gate will remain open until 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Navy basketball game.
Dec. 24: Open from 3:30 - 11 p.m. in support of religious services
Dec. 25: Open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in support of religious services
Dec. 26: Closed - Federal Holiday
Dec. 30: The gate will remain open until 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Navy basketball game.
Jan. 1: Open 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. in support of religious services and from 3 p.m. until 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Navy basketball game.
Jan. 2: Closed - Federal Holiday

Gate 8 (Route 450):

Hours will not change throughout the holiday season. Gate 8 will remain open 24-hours a day.

Visitors to the Naval Academy are required to show valid, government-issued picture identification. Vehicles without Department of Defense decals are not permitted on Naval Academy grounds. Authorized vehicles may enter through Gate 1 (King George Street) or Gate 8 (Maryland Route 450) at the times listed above. Handicapped visitors with proper decals and identification are permitted through Gate 1 during normal business hours. All vehicles may be subject to an inspection. All bags are subject to search.
