3 ON 3 BASKETBALL - Intramurals

Rules:

1. Team consists of 3 players to start and finish the game.

2. Every member of the squad MUST play a portion of the total match.

3. Series of 3 games of which one team must win 2 out of 3 games of 11 points each. Outside the Arc is worth 2 points / inside the Arc is worth 1 point.

4. Time between games will be one minute.

5. For 3 on 3, two 1 minute timeouts allowed for entire match.

6. Coaches of each team are responsible for controlling the tempers and discipline of their team – A SUPERVISOR OR P.E. DEPT. ADMINISTRATOR MAY EJECT ANY PLAYER FOR FLAGRANT FOULING, ABUSIVE LANGUAGE, ETC. If a player’s ejection results in his or her team playing down a player (two or less), his or her team forfeits the remainder of the match.

7. Who is not eligible to play:  Plebe/JV/ Varsity Men’s or Women’s Basketball Players from the 2005-06 season. If these Midn play and are caught, the team with the ineligible player will then forfeit the remainder of their games for the season.

8. The game will be started by a coin toss, or missed/made shot to decide who has first possession of the ball. The team losing the first game will have possession in Game Two. Alternate possession for Game 3, if applicable.

9. The ball will be entered into play from behind the ARC by pass only. After ANY change of possession, the ball will be taken back ANYWHERE beyond the arc before a try for a goal can be attempted.

10. After a basket is made, the team that scored will regain possession of the ball at the top of the arc – MAKE IT TAKE IT

11. When a foul occurs, the team fouled takes the ball at the top – If the shooter is fouled and MAKES the shot, their team will retain possession of the ball.

12. Teams officiate their own games.
