SAILING - Intramurals

Sailing at the Naval Academy
teaches seamanship, self-reliance, and respect for the wind and water. It
exposes us to living with shipmates in close quarters and provides the
associated leadership challenges in the presence of adversity and risk.
Sailing’s
unique heritage at the Naval Academy serves to remind us of the master
mariners whose reputation as naval officers depended principally on their
ability to handle a sailing vessel. As a naval officer, you will be
expected to know the rudiments of sailing.
