Navy Paintball will provide a club in which members of the Brigade of Midshipmen interested in the sport of Paintball can gather and enjoy the sport on many levels. Navy Paintball will also support the Brigade by offering its services for events such as SMT, Sea Trials, and company outings.

Article I
This Organization shall be known as the United States Naval Academy Paintball Club and will be identified herein as Navy Paintball. Back to Top Objectives The United States Naval Academy Paintball Club is established for several purposes. Navy Paintball will provide a club in which Members of the Brigade of Midshipmen interested in the sport of paintball can gather and enjoy the sport on many levels. Navy Paintball will endeavor to establish teams and represent the Naval Academy in a professional manner at paintball events around the country. Navy Paintball will also support the Brigade by offering its services for events such as morning training, Sea-Trials, and company outings. Back to Top Section 1 Organization and Criteria for Membership The United States Naval Academy Paintball Club is an organization established to support the Brigade on many levels. It will be headed up by an Executive Council consisting of a President, Vice President, Administration/Operations Officer, Supply/Treasurer Officer, Chief Air-Smith, and current captains of the club subdivisions/teams. Any Midshipman from the Brigade at large is allowed to join the club and may run for office. Because Navy Paintball will attempt to serve the Brigade and the Academy on many levels it is necessary to have subdivisions within the Club. Subdivisions may include, but are not limited to:
Membership At the beginning of each academic year Navy Paintball will hold an introductory meeting to explain to interested members of the Brigade what the club offers. All members of the Brigade are welcome to attend. After this meeting sign-ups will be held and all wishing to join will pay their dues to the club. Back to Top Officers Each April the Club will hold a meeting in which all interested members of the club can run for the positions of President, Vice President, Administration/Operations Officer, and Supply/Treasurer Officer. The person selected to fill position of Chief Air-Smith will be recommended by the outgoing chief Air-Smith. This recommended member must have acted in an apprenticeship role for one semester and will then be voted upon by the Executive council. In the event that there is no suitable apprentice, the Executive counsel has the power to select from the club membership or let the position lay dormant for a semester. Back to Top Succession of Command The incoming Executive counsel will take control of the Club at the next all hands meeting. At that meeting the new Counsel will first vote upon the position of Chief Air-Smith. The selected member will assume the role immediately after the voting has occurred and the decision is announced. Back to Top Termination of Membership A member of Navy Paintball may terminate his/her membership at anytime. A member will be automatically expelled from the Club for one year if he/she acts in a way that is a discredit to the Naval Academy and the United States Naval Academy Paintball Club. Back to Top Operation Section 1 Navy Paintball will endeavor to raise one or more teams to participate in local tournaments. If the opportunity and experience present themselves, Navy Paintball will attempt to send those teams to a National Tournament. The teams will act in a professional manner and always put forth a positive attitude and maximum effort endeavoring to always uphold the standards of the Naval Academy. Back to Top Navy Paintball will endeavor to send interested Midshipmen to local and regional Scenario games. As with a Navy Paintball tournament team, the selected individuals for participating in a scenario game will conduct themselves as representatives of the Naval Academy. Back to Top Navy Paintball will serve the Brigade of Midshipmen when the opportunity arises throughout the year. This includes but it not limited to: Sea Trials, Company/Squad outings, and Plebe Saturday morning training. When contacted by a Squad, Company, or Brigade Representative, Navy Paintball will appoint a liaison from its members to coordinate the event. The liaison will have the full services of the club to draw upon. When contacted on the Brigade level the liaison will assume the position of Navy Paintball Brigade Support Officer. Back to Top The United States Naval Academy Paintball Club will work hand in hand with Morale, Welfare and Recreation at Naval Station Annapolis to enhance both organizations' capabilities. Navy Paintball will help to maintain the fields and offer referees (when available), on the weekends. Our services will be offered to repair and expand the current field and develop new ones in the surrounding area. When a member of Navy Paintball has completed sufficient training he can volunteer his time as a referee. MWR will offer the use of its fields to Navy Paintball so that the Club may have a place for its tournament team(s) and members to practice and play. Back to Top Finances Section 1 A Midshipmen Welfare Fund requisition will be prepared during March of each year and submitted to the Officer Representative who will review this request with the President and thereafter forward a final request to the Midshipmen Welfare Fund Board. Back to Top In the event that no support is received from the Midshipman Welfare Fund, the Club may utilize fundraisers to gain the money necessary to partake in its Activities. Back to Top Amendments Section 1 A petition to amend the constitution may be made by any midshipman in the Club to the President. Back to Top The President will present any petition received at the Navy Paintball Executive Council meeting at which the Officer Representative is present. If the petition is accepted by a majority of the Council members, the president will then take action to allow all of the members of the United States Naval Academy Paintball club to vote on the proposed amendment at the next meeting, a majority vote of those members present is required. If Navy Paintball approves the proposed amendment, it will be submitted to the Commandant of Midshipmen for final approval. Article IDuties of the President Section 1 The President will act as spokesman for the United States Naval Academy Paintball Club, conducting all external committee business, verbal or written, via the Officer Representative. Back to Top The president will be responsible for overall running of Navy Paintball. He has authority to conduct meetings. Any powers not delegated to any other member of the Executive council will be under the control of the President. He may delegate them as he sees fit. Back to Top Duties of the Vice President Section 1 The Vice-President will act as the President's aid. When the President is not present, the Vice President assumes his responsibilities. Back to Top The Vice-President will act as the chief representative of Navy Paintball to Morale, Welfare and Recreation at Naval Station Annapolis. Back to Top Administration Duties of the Administration/Operations Officer Section 1 The Administration/Operations Officer (AOO) will maintain the roster for Navy Paintball, which includes the rosters for the teams that Navy Paintball raises. Back to Top The AOO will organize times when Midshipmen can act as volunteers for the field at Naval Station Annapolis. He will work with the Vice-President when contacting MWR. Back to Top The AOO will assume any administrative jobs delegated to him by the President Back to Top Operation Duties of the Administration/Operations Officer Section 1 The Administration/Operations Logistics Officer (AOO) is chiefly responsible for the organization of movement orders. When a team or group of Midshipmen shows interest in a paintball related movement order, the AOO will be in charge of organizing and executing the operation. The AOO will assist companies that wish to plan their own movementorder. Back to Top All team Captains wishing to plan a movement order will do it through the AOO. Back to Top The AOO will help organize Brigade related activities while working hand in hand with the other members of the Executive council to make sure the required personnel are present. Back to Top Duties of the Chief Air-Smith Section 1 The Chief Air-Smith will function as the technical expert for Navy Paintball. Because paintball is a constantly changing sport he must endeavor to keep up to date on the latest technologies and markers. Back to Top The Chief Air-Smith must be knowledgeable in the workings of paintball markers. He will function as the Club contact if a member is experiencing problems with his/her marker. The Chief Air-Smith should be able to fix most marker problems and be well versed in preventative maintenance so that he can educate members on proper care of their markers. Back to Top The Chief Air-Smith should have several people he can rely upon when repairing markers. When the end of the year approaches the Chief Air-Smith can select from among these people to fulfill the position of Chief Air-Smith for next year. If the Chief Air-Smith wishes that he/she remained in his position, it will be voted upon by the Executive council. Back to Top Duties of the Supply/Treasurer Officer Section 1 The Supply/Treasurer Officer (STO) will maintain the Club's supplies and records dealing with these supplies. Back to Top When a team or subdivision of Navy Paintball requires some sort of equipment or supplies, they will utilize the STO to attain what they need. Back to Top The STO will also maintain the books for the Club treasury and distribute funds where needed. Back to Top Duties of Team Captains Section 1 Team Captains will be elected by the members of the team and then verified by a simple majority vote of the Executive Council. Upon selection the Captain will sit on the Executive Council as a voting member as soon as his team has entered itself in a tournament. Once the team has completed one tournament, the team Captains position will be permanent on the Executive council until the team is disbanded. A Captain may not hold any other Executive Office. Back to Top Once selected, the team captain will have near complete autonomy in the running of his team. Training and organization will be up to the Captain. The team captain will determine the size of his team but may not discriminate in choosing his members. Each member must be given a fair chance to try out and prove he can be a valuable member to the team. Back to Top When the team Captain wishes to execute a movement order or procure supplies for his team he will utilize the appropriate members of the Executive Council. Back to Top A team Captain can be removed by a simple majority vote by his team or a majority vote from the Executive council. Back to Top Any member of Navy Paintball may begin a tournament or recreational team. Back to Top Duties of Navy Paintball Brigade Support Officer Section 1 At certain times during the academic year the Brigade may call upon Navy Paintball to function in some manner. When this occurs a member of Navy Paintball will be selected to serve as Navy Paintball Brigade Support Officer (NPBSO) by a vote of the entire club. Back to Top The NPBSO will work hand in hand with Brigade staff in an effort to accomplish whatever mission is at hand. He can call upon support from the Executive council and the Navy Paintball members at large. Back to Top The NPBSO has the ability to create a staff under him to help in whatever project he is currently engaged in. This staff will be run at his discretion. Back to Top As soon as it has been deemed necessary to appoint a NPBSO, the member selected will be a voting member of the Executive council. Upon completion of the NPBSO's mission, the position will be disbanded until the Brigade calls upon Navy Paintball again. Back to Top Business Managers Section 1 Business Managers are members of the ECA with exceptional duties. Business Managers can be appointed at the discretion of the President and Vice President. Back to Top The exceptional duties of Business Managers can include, but are not limited to, field design, master builder, team/tournament manager, materials manager, and webmaster. Back to Top Business Managers can be put in charge of tasks (such as field design) or interest groups of members (such as construction). Business Managers will be directly responsible for the tasks assigned and will answer to the President and Vice President. Back to Top The President and Vice President can terminate a Business Manager's exceptional duties whenever they deem it necessary. Back to Top Meetings Section 1 Only the President can call all hands meetings of Navy Paintball. The meetings will be held in accordance with administrative policy as set forth in the ECA Regulations. Back to Top Navy Paintball will hold at least three all hands meetings per year. The first meeting will instruct the members of the coming year, and the last two meetings, which are to be held later in the year, will elect and welcome the next Executive Council. The Officer Representative is to be present at two of these meetings. Back to Top Individual team captains or heads of subdivisions of Navy Paintball can call their own meetings of their members and can petition the President to call an all hands meeting. Back to Top Trips Section 1 Only members of Navy Paintball can participate in Navy Paintball movement orders. Back to Top The AOO can help in setting up movement orders for companies and individual squads. Back to Top Trip requests will be submitted, with the proposed movement order as an enclosure, to the Commandant of Midshipmen ten working days prior to the anticipated trip. Trip itineraries will avoid conflicts with academic and administrative routine as much as possible. Back to Top Amendments Section 1 A motion to amend the By-Laws can be made by any member of Navy Paintball. Back to Top Motions to amend the By-Laws must be passed by a majority vote of the members present at an all hands meeting called by the President. Amendments are subject to approval by the Commandant of Midshipmen. Back to Top
