Academic Program Information

The Department of Political Science major consists of 30 credit hours which include 3 required courses: American Government (FP130), International Relations/Comparative Politics (FP210/FP230) and Political Science Methods (FP210). All midshipmen in the major complete a 1/c capstone paper supervised by a faculty seminar leader. An honors program with a designated honors degree is available for selected midshipmen. Midshipmen select an area of concentration (American Government, Comparative Politics and Regional Studies and International Relations) during their 2/c year in consultation with their advisors.
