Academic Facilities Renovation Academic Facilities Master plan: The Academic Facilities Master plan was developed to acquire an implementation strategy for the renovation and upgrading of the Academic Facilities at the United States Naval Academy. The study involved meeting both the existing and future academic facilities needs of the Academy. The Academic Facilities Renovation Master plan involves eleven (11) Academic Facilities and three (3) interim "swing space" buildings. The following buildings are the Academic Facilities to be renovated under this plan: Sampson Hall Rickover Hall Mahan Hall Michelson/Chauvenet Hall Maury Hall Leahy Hall Luce Hall Administration Building Nimitz Library Preble Hall Hendrix Oceanography Lab The entire phasing and implementation plan for the Academic Facilities is scheduled to start with the "swing space" buildings in the second quarter of 1998 and end with the final renovation of Preble Hall in the forth quarter of 2009.
