PUBLIC WORKS OFFICER

The Public Works Officer (PWO) is a Navy Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) officer reporting to the Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy through the Deputy for Operations.  The PWO is responsible for planning, engineering, design, construction, maintenance and repair of shore facilities, safety certification (elevators, boilers, pressure vessels, cranes), environmental management, restoration, compliance, utility and energy management, housing services, and transportation management.

ASSISTANT PUBLIC WORKS OFFICER

The Assistant Public Works Officer (APWO) is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all utility systems, the execution of facility maintenance, repair, and alteration projects, using both an in house work force, construction contracts, and facility support contracts.  Is also responsible for all engineering design and facility planning and transportation services.
