CAPT Emil Petruncio, PhD, USN, Special Assistant to the Director of Research and Scholarship at USNA, visited the Paul Cuffee School in Providence, RI on May 9, 2014. He presented a talk on Naval Oceanography, Seafloor Mapping, and Ocean Exploration to the 5th grade class.
Petruncio was invited to give this presentation by Mrs. Stacy Barr Gale, the STEM specialist at the Paul Cuffee School. Petruncio and Gale worked together on the Exploration Vessel Nautilus last summer, conducting deep ocean exploration in the Caribbean Sea. Gale was an Educator at Sea, and Petruncio was a Remotely Operated Vehicle Navigator.
