Command, Seamanship and Navigation Training Squadron
The Command, Seamanship and Navigation Training Squadron (CSNTS) Program is one of the required 3/C Midshipmen summer training programs. The 1/C and 2/C Midshipmen who are assigned as Skippers or Executive Officers have an ideal leadership laboratory during the summer. During the summer, CSNTS sends the sail training craft, Navy 44s, crewed by 3/C Midshipmen and led by 1/C and 2/C Midshipmen, USNA Faculty, Staff or Civilian volunteers to various ports up the east coast for thirteen, two-week long training blocks. The leadership of the CSNTS crews go though extensive sailing, seamanship and navigation training to prepare them for their assignments during the preceding Fall, Winter and Spring.
