Tentative Testing Plan
- Close Communications Loop -- Use a signal generator to force a signal down
the transmission block, through a coax jumper and down the receive block to
ensure that all components are properly functioning.
- Close RF Link -- Repeat Close Communication loop test after removing the coax
jumper. Test will determine the ability of the transmission and receive
blocks to operate properly using antennas.
- Voltage Spike -- Increase voltage to TBD volts for TBD seconds to assess
robustness of entire system and determine possible fault points.
- Current Spike -- Increase current to TBD amps for TBD seconds to assess
robustness of entire system and determine possible fault points.
- Thermal Vacuum -- Run multiple transmit/receive cycles in a near-vacuum
environment to determine system's ability to dissipate heat.
- Internal EM Interference -- Determine any possible negative influences upon
any particular component (or group of components) by another component (or
group of components).
- External EM Susceptibility -- Determine any possible negative influences upon
any particular component (or group of components) given the requirement that
all systems must be able to withstand 20V/m.
- Power Output at Antenna -- Determine power output at antenna to ensure that
output is sufficient as calculated by the link margin.
