A performance
of Handel's Messiah in the Naval Academy Chapel, circa 1947. The
seed of origin for this annual production was planted during a meeting
between Professor Gilly, the choir director/Chapel organist, and Alexander
C. Morris.
They knew the choir director at Hood College, and so history was made.

Marty DeMay conducts the pit band consisting of wind and
string players. Although there
were no "official" string players in the band, many doublers were hired
during this period
to fill the needs of the marching field as well as the society groups.
