A newspaper clipping dated August 5, 1955 announcing the featured trumpet trio of Don Tison, R.C. Kitt, and J.G. Eldred. Don Tison went on to be Principal Trumpet in the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

The USNA Band Wives Club offered a one semester scholarship to Peabody Preparatory School. The scholarship and the opportunity to solo with the Naval Academy Band was awarded to the winner of a formal audition held at Annapolis Junior High.
