Chief Petty Officer Geoffrey C. Bayne, USN
Trumpeter, Naval Academy Band

Chief Musician Geoffrey Bayne is a native of Seattle, Washington. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Pacific Lutheran University in 1988. While in school he performed with the concert band, orchestra, jazz ensemble and brass quintet, as well as with various big bands and brass quintets in the Seattle-Tacoma area.

MUC Bayne entered the Navy in 1988 and served with Navy Band San Diego. In 1993, he transferred to Navy Band Seattle.

In 1999, MUC Bayne auditioned and was accepted by the U.S. Naval Academy Band. He performs in the concert band, marching band, “Next Wave” jazz ensemble, and ceremonial units. He serves as band Fiscal Manager, and spent six years leading the midshipmen big band Trident Brass.

MUC Bayne’s military awards include the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), the Navy Good Conduct Medal (6 awards), and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
