Class Petty Officer Joel L. Borrelli-Boudreau, USN
Musician First Class Joel L. Borrelli-Boudreau is a native of Methuen, Massachusetts, and joined “The Navy’s Oldest and Finest” in August of 1997. He holds a bachelor of music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music, a master of music degree from the University of Miami, a master of arts in conducting from George Mason University, a graduate performance diploma from the Peabody Conservatory, and has earned 77 doctoral credits from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music. At present, Petty Officer Borrelli-Boudreau is working on a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in orchestral and choral conducting at The Catholic University of America. His principal teachers are: Anthony J. Maiello, Professor David Searle, Maestro Charles Bruch, John Swallow, Doug Yeo, Norman Bolter, and Tony Chipurn. Petty Officer Borrelli-Boudreau has performed with the Boston, Cincinnati, and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras, as well as the Naples (FL) Symphony, the Dayton (OH) Philharmonic, the Richmond Symphony, and the Annapolis Wind Symphony. In addition, he was a member of the Baltimore Opera Orchestra, the Sarasota Opera, Florida Grand Opera, and the West Palm Beach Opera Company. Other performance credits include the Bolshoi Ballet, the Royal Ballet, and the Miami City Ballet orchestras. During summer seasons, Petty Officer Borrelli-Boudreau was a two-year “fellow” in the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, performed at the Grand Teton Music Festival, studied at the Pierre Monteux Conducting School, and was a member of the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival Brass Quintet.
