MUC Francisco Dominguez comes from San Jose, California and is a 1985 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. While in still in high school, he honed his saxophone and improvisational skills performing in a local jazz group.

He joined the Navy in October of 1986, and after graduating from the Armed Forces School of Music as a saxophone and flute instrumentalist, he reported to the 7th Fleet Band in Yokasuka, Japan, where he performed with their Show Band "Far East Edition," touring to many countries, including a two month deployment on the USS NEW JERSEY to Australia in celebration of that country's Bicentennial. It was while in Japan that Chief Dominguez began his singing career by convincing his Commanding Officer to give him an opportunity and he's been singing ever since! In 1989 he transferred to Navy Band San Francisco, performing with "Show Band West" and the rock group "Nautilus." In 1992, Frank attended the Section Leader Course at the Armed Forces School of Music and, upon completion, remained on staff as an instructor of Basic Music and Ear Training. His next assignment took him on tour throughout Central, and South America, as well as parts of Africa, with the Atlantic Fleet's Show Band on two annual UNITAS Tours. In addition to his instrumental and vocal abilities, his fluency in Spanish proved to be an invaluable asset.

MUC Dominguez auditioned as a vocalist for the U. S. Naval Academy Band and reported for duty in 1999. Since his arrival in Annapolis, he has performed as lead vocalist and saxophone instrumentalist with the Navy's premier contemporary music ensemble, The Electric Brigade, and is currently the group's unit leader.

Chief Dominguez' awards include the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy "E", Navy Good Conduct Award (3 awards), National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (4 awards), and Navy Expert Pistol Marksman's Medal.

In his spare time MUC Dominguez is a student of the Martial Arts and holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He is also a voracious reader of nonfiction, doing personal research on such diverse topics as world history, politics, religion, and art.
