Class Petty Officer Erin R. Heere, USN
Musician First Class Erin Heere is a native of Topeka, Kansas. She earned her bachelor of music in flute performance from the University of North Texas where she studied with Dr. Mary Karen Clardy. She then spent a year studying with Dr. Bradley Garner at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. Petty Officer Heere's professional experience includes serving as piccoloist with the Irving Symphony, Northern Kentucky Symphony and the University of North Texas Faculty Chamber Winds. She can be heard as a featured piccolo soloist on the University of North Texas Wind Symphony recording of "Luminaries," under the direction of Eugene Corporon. Petty Officer Heere joined the Naval Academy Band in 1997. She is a member of the Concert Band, wind quintet, ceremonial band, marching band, and serves as an assistant librarian. She occasionally can be heard as a vocalist with the Concert Band, as well as at ceremonies and events around the area. Petty Officer Heere's awards include the Navy Good Conduct Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Outside of her principal
instrument, Petty Officer Heere has been involved in many different areas
of the performing arts. She has performed leading roles in the musical
productions of "Oliver," "Annie," "The Pirates
of Penzance," and "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," and
has danced leading roles in "Cinderella," "Romeo and Juliet,"
