Chief Petty Officer Dawn M. Henry, USN
Chief Musician Dawn M. Henry is a native of Quarryville, Pennsylvania. After graduation from Solanco High School in 1992, she attended The University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music where she studied clarinet with Ronald DeKant, graduating in 1996 with a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance. Chief Henry then attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where she studied with Dr. Charles West and completed a Masters Degree in Music Performance in 1998. She has performed with the Susquehanna Winds, Northern Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Carpenter Wind Quintet, and Classical Elegance Trio. She is currently performing with the Prince William Symphony Orchestra, where she has been featured as a soloist, Manassas Dance Company, Prince William Chamber Players, and the Little River Symphony Orchestra. Chief Henry began her military career in 1998 as a clarinetist in the United States Air Force Band in Washington D.C. While assigned there, she performed with the Orchestra, Concert Band, marching and ceremonial units. Additionally she served as Concertmaster and soloist in the Concert Band. In 2003, Chief Henry won the audition for the U.S. Naval Academy Band. After attending Veteran's Division training, she reported to Annapolis where she currently performs with the Concert Band, as well as marching and ceremonial units. Chief Henry's military awards include the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit, National Service Defense Medal, and the Air Force Longevity Ribbon.
