Petty Officer Amy K. Jarjoura, USN
Chief Musician Amy K. Jarjoura, a native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, became involved in music at an early age. She attended Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia and studied with Laura Ardan. In 1990, she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance from the North Carolina School of the Arts, where she studied with Robert Listokin. While working on her undergraduate degree, MUC Jarjoura performed in the Winston-Salem Symphony, Salisbury Symphony, Hickory Orchestra, and the Asheville Symphony. After completing her education, she relocated to Arlington, Texas, where she taught private clarinet studies in the Arlington Independent School System. During that time, she studied with Andy Crisanti, and performed in area orchestras. In October 1992, MUC Jarjoura auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band. Following recruit training at RTC, Orlando, she reported for duty as clarinetist with the concert band, marching, band, and ceremonial units. MUC Jarjoura also serves as Administrative Leading Chief Petty Officer, Command Managed Equal Opportunity Manager, and Sailor of the Quarter Coordinator. MUC Jarjoura has been awarded the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards) Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Good Conduct Medal (4 awards), National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
