Officer First Class Carl A. Lindquist, USN
Musician First Class Carl Lindquist joined the Naval Academy Band in 2007. A native of Sandusky, OH, he received a bachelor of music degree from Boston University in 2001 and a master of music degree from Rice University in 2004. While a student, Lindquist competed frequently in the National Trumpet Competition, receiving third place in the Masters Division in 2004, and winning the ensemble division in 1998 and 2003. His primary teachers include Marie Speziale, Terry Everson, Alan Siebert, Richard Burkart, and his father, Jeff. Prior to joining the band, MU1 Lindquist was a member of the U.S. Army Field Band for three years. While there he performed frequently with the Concert Band, performing as tour soloist in 2006. He also performed with the Brass Quintet in clinics and recitals at numerous universities, high schools and middle schools. MU1 Lindquist’s military awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
