Chief Musician Pasquale L. Sarracco, USN
Trumpeter, Naval Academy Band

A native of Bethel, Connecticut, Chief Musician Pat Sarracco earned a Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance from Indiana University and a Master of Music degree in trumpet performance from Northwestern University. His principal teachers include Robert Nagel, Allan Dean, Bernard Adelstein, Edmund Cord, Vincent Cichowicz, and Arnold Jacobs.

Prior to entering the Navy, MUC Sarracco held the position of principal trumpet in the Nova Filarmonia Portuguesa, in Lisbon Portugal, and the Bellevue Philharmonic in Bellevue, Washington. He performed as Guest Principal Trumpet in the UNAM Orchestra in Mexico City, Mexico, and second trumpet in the Tacoma Symphony. MUC Sarracco also served as Adjunct Faculty at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington.

In 1997, MUC Sarracco auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band. Following recruit training at RTC, Great Lakes, he reported for duty as trumpeter with the concert band, marching band, and ceremonial units. His collateral duties include Chief in Charge of Transportation, Auditions Supervisor, and Band Historian.

MUC Sarracco has been awarded the Navy Good Conduct Medal (4 awards), Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Navy Expert Pistol Shot Medal, Navy Expert Rifleman Medal, 3 Gold Excellence in Competition Medals, and the Navy Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge.
