Senior Chief Petty Officer E. Adams Tillett, USN

Senior Chief Musician Adam Tillett, a native of Norfolk, Virginia, earned a Bachelor of Music degree in horn performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in 1988, and a Master of Music degree in horn performance from Northwestern University in 1989.

In 1991, MUCS Tillett auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band. Upon completion of Recruit Training, RTC Great Lakes, IL, he reported to Annapolis where he has performed with the concert band, marching band, Chamber Winds, brass ensemble, woodwind quintet, and ceremonial units. He has appeared as featured soloist with the concert band. MUCS Tillett has served as Unit Leader of Ceremonial Band "Gold" and Unit Leader of the Wind Quintet. In 2005 he was named Principal Horn of the concert band, and in 2007 became the band’s Drug and Alcohol Program Advisor (DAPA). He currently serves as Educational Outreach Coordinator.

MUCS Tillett has been awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (6 awards), the National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
