Class Petty Officer John E. Tuck, USN
Musician
First Class John E. Tuck was born and raised in the Chicago area where
he began playing piano and trumpet at age 10. He attended Glenbard East
High School and was very active in the band and choral programs as well
as the Illinois Music Educators Association All-State competition. After
high school, Petty Officer Tuck went on to study trumpet performance at
the Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) at Roosevelt University
for two years under trumpeters Rob Parton and Channing Philbrick. At the
CCPA, he served as lead trumpet in the top big band and as a tenor in
