Musician First Class Carl Lindquist, a native of Sandusky, OH, received bachelors and masters degrees in trumpet performance from Boston University and Rice University, respectively. His teachers include Marie Speziale, Terry Everson, Richard Burkart, and his father, Jeff Lindquist.

Prior to joining the Naval Academy Band, MU1 Lindquist was a member of the U.S. Army Field Band. While a member of the band, he performed frequently with the concert band and brass quintet in concerts and masterclasses throughout the continental United States.

In 2007, MU1 Lindquist auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band. Following Veterans’ training at Great Lakes, he reported for duty in Annapolis. He serves as principal trumpet of both the wind ensemble and brass ensemble, and additionally performs as a trumpeter with the brass quintet, marching band, and ceremonial units. His collateral duties include serving as Leading Petty Officer of the wind ensemble and as Command Career Counselor Assistant.

MU1 Lindquist has been awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
