Musician First Class Ben Redwine is from Del City, Oklahoma. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree in music education from the University of Oklahoma, a Master of Music degree from Louisiana State University, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree from The Catholic University of America.

MU1 Redwine has performed as a soloist and taught as a clinician in Spain, Portugal, Wales, China, Canada, and extensively throughout the United States. He has been a featured soloist at four International Clarinet Association conventions.

Prior to joining the Navy, MU1 Redwine served as clarinetist in the Army Ground Forces Band in Atlanta, Georgia from 1995 through 1999.

In 1999, MU1 Redwine auditioned and was selected for assigned to the U.S. Naval Academy Band, where he serves as clarinetist in the marching band, clarinet quartet, and ceremonial units. He also works as an assistant in the band’s Public Affairs Office.

MU1 Redwine has earned the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal (5 awards), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
