Join the Naval Academy Band at Mahan Hall on September 5th at 7:30 p.m. as they present the opening concert of their fall concert series.  Conducted by Lieutenant Commander Brian O. Walden and Assistant Director Ensign Scott Mythen, the band will present a program entitled “At the Movies.”  Audience members will enjoy familiar music from classic movies including “The Bridge on the River Kwai” and “Star Wars.”  Petty Officer First Class Jessica Hatfield will sing the Frank Sinatra favorite, “In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning,” which was heard in “Sleepless in Seattle.”  Also on the program will be Jean Sibelius’ “Finlandia” Overture which was heard in “Die Hard 2,” and “Chivalry,” written as a tribute to the music of Erich Wolfgang Korngold.

Naval Academy Band concerts are free and open to the public with no tickets required.  Mahan Hall is located on the grounds of the Naval Academy.  For more information, please call (410) 293-0263.
