Recital Series
The Naval Academy Band Recital Series features solo and chamber group performances by members of the Concert Band. These recitals take place throughout the mid-Atlantic region at smaller and more intimate venues such as churches and recital halls.
Participation in the Recital Series by members of the Band is voluntary, and offers a platform for collaborating with other band members as well as with civilian guest artists from the region. Programs usually include a mixture of classic solo literature with more contemporary works that may present audience members with a chance for new musical discovery. Performing world premieres of new compositions, or music with unique instrumentation pushes the limits of musicians and instruments, and challenges performers and audiences alike.
The series runs every year in both the spring and fall, and is coordinated by our Principal Oboist, MU1 Emily Madsen.
