Latin American Studies Club Calendar of Events SUNDAY JAN 11 : SALSA~ IBALL TRY OUTS The Salsa Coordinators for this year will be holding try-outs in MacD. All other practices will be determined by the Salsa Team for their schedule performance at the International Ball on Saturday APRIL 18 in Alumni Hall. For more information contact Tito & Tess . The Latin American Studies Club in collaboration with SHPE will be hosting a lunch seminar for all members involved in the M & M program. The event will take place in Levy 230 and name is needed to be put on the excusal list. The Folkloric Coordinators for this year will be holding try-outs in MacD courts. All other practices will be determined by the Team for their schedule performance at the International Fair (APRIL 17) and International Ball on Saturday APRIL 18 in Alumni Hall. For more information contact: MIDN Mazo The Latin American Studies Club and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers will be holding a professional development forum in Levy Room 230 for all interested underclass with questions about Summer Training available. Names are needed in advance in order to be put on the excusal list. Please contact SHPE President as soon as possible: MIDN Velasquez The Latin American Studies Club will be hosting an event especially for the members of the Class of 2012 interested in learning more about what the Latin American Studies Club has to offer in partnership with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. LASC & SHPE will be participating in an event where interested 4/C will be exposed to engineering through various fun activities and hands-on interaction with equipment. ----------- MONDAY FEB 02 : 1st SPRING GENERAL BODY MEETING The Latin American Studies Club & the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers will be hosting the 1st Spring meeting for all new members interested to join and all old members. FRIDAY FEB 06 : MENTORSHIP SESSION # 2 The Latin American Studies Club will be hosting an event especially for the members of the Class of 2012 right before 6-week exams. SATURDAY FEB 07 : MINI STEM DAY The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers will be hosting a MINI STEM day with 4/c interested in going Group 1 or Group 2. SATURDAY FEB 07 : BEN BEN COMMUNITY OUTREACH LASC/SHPE members are encouraged to help high school students that are brought over for tutoring. Luce Hall 0800. SATURDAY FEB 14 : ADMISSIONS OUTREACH The Latin American Studies Club & the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers are invited to help out with an Admissions Outreach event that will be held during a Basketball game. FRIDAY APRIL 17: INTERNATIONAL FAIR The Naval Academy will celebrate its annual International FAIR. Our Salsa and Folkloric Teams will perform. LASC will host a booth with picture of members who have been to South America and offer some Latino finger foods. SATURDAY APRIL 18: INTERNATIONAL BALL The Naval Academy will celebrate its annual International Ball with performance from our Salsa Team and Folkloric Dance Group.
