Run For America
ENS Daniel Campos, ENS Christine Fix, Bob Bruninga, WB4APR
To show support to the firefighters, law enforcement agents and all Americans involved in the effort to rescue the victims of the recent act of terroism, Ensigns Daniel Campos and Christine Fix, are coordinating a relay run to carry our national flag from the Pentagon to the World Trade Center on Friday the 28th and overnight until they arrive about 1800 Saturday.
Tracking: Using the Amateur Radio GPS tracking capability of the USNA Ham Radio club and soon our PCsat Satellite, the maps below show the LIVE progress of the runners along the way. The route was basically route 1, From the Pentagon to New York. The FLAG arrived on schedule in downtown Manhattan and it appears the van is parked along the west side while the runners explore the area on foot. Note: the FLAG position shown on the electronic maps below, is the location of the CHASE VAN which has the radio equipment, not the FLAG itself. The FLAG should be just in front, or nearby.
The above street maps show the actual LIVE position of the FLAG. The below map runs a javAPRS replay of the run and other amateur radio APRS stations along the way. This is a replay of the 36 hour run...
