Honors Program, Class of 2010

Department of History,

U.S. Naval Academy

Welcome to the information page for the History Department’s Honors Program at USNA.  The Program offers approximately 10-12 students with distinguished records the opportunity to practice the historian’s craft in a curriculum more rigorous than that of the conventional history major.

The Program is undoubtedly among the most academically enriching within the Hums/SS division, and perhaps across all divisions at USNA.  The demands on the time of Honors midshipmen - both during the summer, when the bulk of their research must be conducted, and during fall first class year, as they write and revise their theses - are significant.

The Honors Committee for the Class of 2010 comprises

Professor Marcus Jones, Chair  mojones@usna.edu

Professor Thomas Burgess  gburgess@usna.edu

CDR John Freymann  freymann@usna.edu

Professor Dan Masterson masterso@usna.edu
