October 1940:  Italian forces invaded Greece through
Albania, but were quickly thrown back.
After Germany defeated Greece and Yugoslavia in 1941
Kosovo and Çamëria [from Greece] were joined to Albania
An ethnically united Albanian state for the first time
November 1944:  Upon the German withdrawal, Kosovo
was reincorporated into Yugoslavia and Çamëria into
Greece
After a successful struggle against the fascists and two
other resistance groups—the National Front and the pro-
Zog Legality Party, the Albanian Communist Pary seized
control of the country in November, 1944
