Greece returned to Monarchy
1932-35 witnessed a succession of weak
indecisive Greek governments.
In March 1935, supports of Venizelos staged a
coup which was put down by General Kondilis
and sent Venizelos into final exile.
Kondilis organized a plebisicite to restore the
monarchy in November 1935.
The Constitution of 1911 was restored to replace
the Constitution of 1927.
This marked the triumph of conservatism in an
uncertain time.
