  • Professor at USNA, since 1999. Adjunct faculty at Dalhousie University since 2008.
    Currently visiting the University of Maryland, College Park on sabbatical.
  • Research Interests: Algebra, Geometry, Cryptography and Operations Research.
  • Selected Awards:
    • 2009: Lester R. Ford Award and the Merten M. Hasse Prize from the Mathematical Association of America (joint with Amy Ksir and Andy Bashelor) for our paper Enumerative Algebraic Geometry of Conics.
    • 2001: USNA Apgar Award for Excellence in Teaching, Honorable Mention.
    • 1998: NSERC Post-doctoral Award (held at MSRI and U.C. Berkeley).
    • 1996: Daniel B. Delury Teaching Award (University of Toronto).
  • Service:
    • Admissions Board, USNA, 2008-2011.
    • Navy Women's Rugby Team (assistant coach and academic tutor, 2001-2008)
    • Mathematics Association of America, MD-DC-VA Section Executive Board, 2002-2006.
