In June of 2006 I graduated with a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Oregon in Eugene. From 2006-2008 I was a postdoctoral fellow at Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan. Currently, I am an assisstant professor at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and live in Washington DC.

I'm interested in nearly all mathematics, but I mostly focus on problems in combinatorics, commutative algebra, and algebraic geometry. I am particularly interested in algebraic, geometric and combinatorial aspects of Hyperplane Arrangements. For example, above is an interesting arrangement of hyperplanes (it is of lines in the plane but can be considered as projective lines in the projective plane). I have also become interested in Cryptology.
