• A simple GAP-Macaulay interface. Unpack the tarball and read the README file. The files together simply uses macaulay (in GAP) to factor a polynomial.

• A simple gui python-GAP interface. Unpack the tarball and read the README file. This is a simple tkinter gui which passes a simple calculation to GAP and displays the result in the gui window. It is created and documented mostly for testing and educational purposes.

• Helpful GAP interface programs:
  1. Frank Luebeck's ReadNC GAP program allows the reading into GAP of programs with multi-line comments.
  2. Running gap in emacs or xemacs.

• A simple GAP LogTo to LaTeX converter written in python. Usage example:

  ./gap2latex TraceCode.glog TraceCode.tex
  

  Here TraceCode.glog is any output of GAP's LogTo command and TraceCode.tex is the name of the output file. This python script was written for a linux/unix computer (with python installed) but should also work with small modifications on a windows PC with python installed. The gap prompts in the latex file are in red, commented lines start in blue, brk prompts are in green, and the rest is in black. Here is the output file: TraceCode.tex and the associated color pdf file.
