Title:

Continued fractions, quadratic forms, and factorization

Abstract: I will review several methods of factoring based on continued fractions, including the Morrison-Brillhart algorithm and Shanks' SQUFOF algorithm, and also give some new modifications which have the hope of providing some significant improvements.
