Title:

Applications of the LU-Decomposition to Hyperbolic Geometry

Abstract: We discuss the notion of the standard position of objects (such as polyhedra) in hyperbolic space, with regard to Lorentz transformations. Our approach is based on a geometric interpretation of certain matrix decompositions which arise in representation theory. Other applications of these decompositions are also mentioned, as well as applications to complex hyperbolic space.
