Title:
Some New Results on Continued Fractions Via Multifractal Analysis
of the Gauss Map
Abstract: We effect a multifractal analysis for the Gauss map, and as a
consequence, prove some new results on the precise exponential speed of
convergence of the continued fraction algorithm. This also provides new
quantitative information on geodesic excursions up cusps on the modular
surface.
