Assigned homework will be due at 6 week, 12 week, and 16 weeks as
indicated in class. Late homework will be
penalized 10 percent. The homework you hand in is to be done
either entirely on your own or with your partner.
It should be treated like homework.
The last homework set is due the last day of class and no
class work can be turned in after that.
As often as possible, the class will put up homework problems
on the blackboard.
We will also have quizzes as often as possible,
ideally every two or three weeks. The tests will
be as in the syllabus.
The final project should be a 5 page typed project
on an application of probability to your major.
It is due April 19th.
Grading formulas:
final grade=(.30)F+(.25)T+(.20)Q+(.15)H+(0.05)B+(0.05)P,
where T=test average, Q=quiz average, H=hmwk ave,
P=final project, F=final exam.
and
6 week and 12 week grade:
period grade=((.25)T+(.2)Q+(.15)H+(0.05)B)/(0.65),
However, the project will go into your 16 week grade:
period grade=((.25)T+(.2)Q+(.15)H+(0.05)B+(0.05)P)/(0.7),
