Assateague Profiles

Spring 2009

Before anyone from your group leaves this lab you must email the instructor two CSV files, correctly renamed, with your two profiles.  They must plot in MICRODEM.  You should also be able to work on writing up you wave and sand layering results.  You will have the next lab period to do sieve analysis on your sand samples.

Update MICRODEM and its help file; insure they both say the 14 April version.

Download the Assateague data, and make sure it is in c:\mapdata\assateague.  If the download in MICRODEM does not work, you can get the file here.

In addition to the requirements listed for the field trip you will write a coherent discussion of the changes that can be seen at Assateague from the student profiles, and the LIDAR profiles.  For the student profiles you should consider changes along the two lines you surveyed, and how they compare with the LIDAR surveys.  In addition, discuss the changes at the seashore where we surveyed to those farther north (around N38.215) and farther south (around N38.195).
