You may well have to set up an account to access and view the data.
Look at the data sets available, and propose two uses of them:
1. A question that we could use in Matlab to answer a question next week. You must include a description of the data set, and what you would have to do with it to demonstrate what you have learned this semester.
2. A question that someone could use to enter the Earth Day challenge. This could be done using Matlab or a GIS program or a combination. Discuss what data they should get, what they should do with it, and how they would get the bonus points for visualization.
You have the double period to do this prepare a word Document with your two proposals, including references to the contest notice, and the data download site (http://marinexplore.org/explore/#explore/2d ).
