One band has much lower spatial resolution--which one, and
why?

Band 6, TIR. Low resolution because it is
energy emitted by the earth, and that is not nearly as much energy as you
get in reflected solar energy. |

Band 1, Blue. Variation in the water, but
not a very good differentiation between land and water. |
|
|
Band 4, NIR. Very good contrast between
land and water, and vegetation reflects very strongly. |
