Directed self-assembly of nanomaterials, such as carbon nanotubes (CNT), quantum dots (QD), ferroelectric nanoparticles (FNP), graphene, ferromagnetic nanoparticles (FMN), gold nanoparticles in liquid crystals (LC); Development of LC-CNT / LC-graphene based nano-electromechanical systems (NEMS), electro-optic devices, micro-switching devices, and electromechanical memory functions; Order-disorder phenomena in soft-matter systems; Chirality; CNT / DNA / graphene induced chirality based phenomena in soft-matter systems; Liquid crystal phases and phase transitions.
