  • The Systems Engineering major at the Naval Academy has been rated number one in the nation for over fifteen consecutive years by the Gorman Report.

 

  • Systems Engineering is an interdisciplinary major whose primary objective is to provide an overall understanding of the analysis and design of complete engineering systems. Emphasis is on mathematical modeling, analysis, synthesis, control, and simulation. Typical systems are electromechanical devices containing embedded computer controllers.

 

  • For naval officers, the Systems Engineering major is of significant value to the professional whose career will be continually involved with the operation and maintenance of sophisticated, integrated systems.

 

  • The Systems Engineering major is one of the seven engineering majors at the U. S. Naval Academy that is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
