The United States Naval Academy and Watermark® were awarded the “Public/Private Initiative Award” from the Four Rivers Heritage Area in recognition of their partnership in developing the Seas, Lakes & Bay: The Naval War of 1812 walking tour. Naval Academy Superintendent Vice Adm. Miller and Watermark President Debbie Gosselin accepted the award together during a ceremony on November 8, 2012 at the Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center in Annapolis. The award is one of several annual heritage awards Four Rivers presents in recognition of individuals, organizations, partnerships, programs, and products that contribute significantly to the community by interpreting, promoting, preserving, researching, and/or supporting Maryland’s historical legacy.
