In accordance with Department of Defense direction, the Naval Academy is allowed to bring the vast majority of our faculty and staff back to work starting tomorrow, Monday, 7 October.
There are a very small number of Naval Academy staff whose jobs do not meet the requirements of the recently passed Pay Our Military Act and the Department of Justice has determined that they are not allowed to return to work during the government shutdown. Each of these personnel has been notified.
If you have not been notified that you must remain in a furlough status, and if practical, you are directed to return to work tomorrow, Monday, 7 October.
