Bay Light

 I looked across the bay to see
A thousand masted stars.
They swayed not with the
Heavens but with the waters.
 
  Swinging small circles
High above the reflecting waves.
 
  And down near the surface
I saw a thousand green
And red stars winking
In secret unison at each other
 
  All the stars rose and fell
Not with the sun but with the tide,
And gave life to the dark.
