CCBOM ~ About Us

The nucleus of the Center for Chesapeake Bay Observation and Modeling (CCBOM) are faculty and staff members in four academic departments:

  • Oceanography Department
  • Mathematics Department
  • Chemistry Deapartment
  • Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering Department

The Center also cooperates with other groups at the USNA for technical support. These include:

  • Hydromechanics Laboratory (HydroLab)
  • Computer-Aided Design and Interactive Graphics Laboratory (CADIG)
  • Technical Support Department (TSD)
  • Annapolis Naval Station (vessel and dive support)

Each academic department or support group has a long tradition of research and educational activities in both the Chesapeake Bay and ocean environment. Each department also contributes in unique ways to the Center as described throughout this website.
