Navy Sailing Programs
Basic Sail Training: Over 1,250 incoming freshmen midshipmen (or "plebes") go through this training each summer. The training consists of an advanced introduction to sailing, knot tying, and basic seamanship.

Offshore Sailing Training Squadron: One of the optional summer training programs for 3/c Midshipmen. The OSTS crews get experiential training in ocean sailing, seamanship, navigation, leadership and teamwork.

Intercollegiate Sailing Team: Consistently one of the top programs in the country, the IC team has a long history of turning out collegiate All-Americans, College Sailors of the Year, Olympians, and America's Cup sailors.

Varsity Offshore Sailing Team: The USNA intercollegiate big boat regatta teams (both Varsity and Junior Varsity), compete locally on the Chesapeake Bay and on the Eastern seaboard in the summer.

Cutter Shed: The Team responsible for maintenance, inspections and keeping the donated, N44 and N26 craft in peak operating efficiency.
Maintenance Division Officer: LT David Piotrowski
Staff and Student Recreational Sailing: The Unites States Naval Academy, Midshipmen, officers, and staff who earn a Navy 26 qualification are allowed to sign out the Navy 26s for recreational day sailing free of charge.
