ARCS Remote Access Compute Servers

All supported servers are multiuser, symmetric multiprocessing (SMP), shared memory servers. They include both Linux and Windows remote access, compute servers with a minimum of 8 compute cores, 32 gigabytes of memory and 650 gigabyte of disk storage. Most of the servers have RAID5 storage. The servers provide USNA faculty members and students with higher performance computers on which they can run jobs that are too large for or run too slow on USNA standard issue computers. Two new SMP compute servers, each with 48-cores and 128 gigabytes of memory were the latest servers to be implemented. One is Windows based and the other Linux based. All the servers can only be reached from the USNA Intranet and VPN.
